For Several Days

Bom dia!

Guess where I am? Não… guess again? Nope…

I’m on my third train now heading up to Porto in the north of Portugal. Then I’ll wind up 8 km outside of the little town of Santo Tirso. I’m intending to spend several days being still, listening to God. I’ve going at such a fast pace, talking a lot to God but not doing such a good job of listening to Him. Would you PLEASE PRAY for me and my time with God? Would you also PRAY for Laina and the kids while I’m away?

Let me give you a quick update of some of what God has accomplished through all of that “fast pace”.

CA’s Leadership SUMMIT was perhaps the best we’ve ever had…YEA GOD! There were too many highlights to recount here…rich and deep times of worship…one of the most amazing dramatizations of Communion that I’ve ever experienced complete with fish and olives and humus and heart wrenching conversation between Mary Magdalene, Peter, the Samaritan woman at the well, the leper, the woman who touch the hem of his cloak, and others as they told their stories of Jesus! Oh I could go on and on…

But the introduction of Rob Fairbanks as President and the honouring of Linus & Sharon…WOW! And then Stefan & Andrea Lingott, German church planters, stood up and asked if they could have some time. They presented Linus & Sharon with a map of Europe signed by all the 37 European missional communities that have started as a result of Linus & Sharon’s passion and leadership. Then Stefan asked, “Would all the Europeans in the room please come forward to pray over Linus & Sharon…more than 40 Europeans gathered around and prayed, in their native tongues over our Founding President and his bride…what a moment…what an amazing God!!!!!
Well now I’m crying all over my computer. I think I’ll just stop here and write some more later…

in peace and with love
